The acrylic painting "Blue Sky" depicts children looking up at the kites flying in the blue sky on a hill of a beautiful rural village.
Ri Sok Nam, Official of the Pyongyang University of Fine Arts, who created the painting, says:
"I wanted to represent in this painting the ardent love for my socialist country defending and developing the happiness of our people despite the hardships."
The blue sky seen in almost all part of the painting is in harmony with the bright and cheerful children, showing our future to be more brilliant.
The painting was highly estimated at the national fine art exhibition held in Juche 94(2005) in celebration of the 60th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea and it is kept as a national treasure at the Korea National Art Museum.
