Lake Chon on Mt. Paektu is a natural lake on the top of Mt. Paektu, the highest mountain of Korea. It was formed with water gathered in the crater which fell during the eruption of the Paektu volcano.
Lake Chon is 14.4 kilometres round and covers an area of 9.16 square kilometres.
Its surface is 2,190.15 metres above the sea level. It belongs to the crater lake in the high place worldwide.
The maximum depth of the lake is 384 metres.
