The Grand People's Study House in downtown Pyongyang is a social education, IT materials and sci-tech dissemination centre and a large library of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
It was named so in the meaning that it is a place where all people can study to their hearts' content.
The house was built in traditional style with tens of green high and low roofs. It was inaugurated in April Juche 71(1982).

The 10-storey house has more than 20 reading rooms with 6,000 seats, over 10 lecture rooms, a number of question-and-answer rooms and music-listening rooms around the stacks which can keep large volumes of books. The lecture rooms are equipped with modern educational facilities. There is also the Sonjin Information Market where various activities are conducted including the introduction and dissemination of sci-tech, economic and cultural knowledge and IT goods.
The Grand People's Study House has friendly and cooperative relations with libraries, museums, scientific research institutions and publishing organs in many countries and exchanges publications with them.
It provides the visitors with necessary materials such as those of latest science and technology. And it hosts lectures and short courses regularly on sci-tech and other important issues.
