80th founding anniversary of daily "Rodong Sinmun" commemorated
A meeting was held at the People's Palace of Culture on October 31 to commemorate the 80th founding anniversary of the daily "Rodong Sinmun".
Present there were Ju Chang Il, Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials, journalists, editors and employees of the Rodong Sinmun Offices, meritorious persons, officials, journalists and editors of the press and relevant units and exemplary worker-peasant correspondents from across the country.
Invited to the meeting were members of the delegation of the Joson Sinbo Company under the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan on a visit to the socialist homeland.

He said the founding of the daily "Rodong Sinmun" was a solemn declaration that heralded the birth of the Party organ of Juche type representing the idea, politics, lines and stand of the WPK and an event which provided an ideological weapon powerfully rousing the entire Party members and other people to the accomplishment of the Party's cause. He stressed that on November 1, 1945 the journey of development of the Party organ, which has been loyal to the idea and will of the Party Central Committee and shared destiny with the Party, started.
The 80-year-long sacred course of the daily "Rodong Sinmun" is a proud one in which it has played the role of good educator, bold propagandist and loyal mouthpiece in every period and at every stage of the revolution and construction, purely maintaining its revolutionary character and nature under the special concern and energetic leadership of our Party, he noted.
Saying the daily "Rodong Sinmun" is greeting a heyday of its development in the new era of the Juche revolution, he stated that the respected ComradeKim Jong Un clarified the orientation and ways for the advance of the Party organ and put its dignity and position as the Party's organ on the highest plane.
The reporter called on all the officials, journalists, editors and employees to conduct a more vigorous ideological campaign and propaganda activities inspiring the whole Party and the entire people to the accomplishment of the great cause of overall national prosperity, true to the leadership of the great Party Central Committee.
