Labour Hero, Dr. and Assoc. Prof. Jon Pong Chan, Section Chief of Kim Chaek University of Technology
  Every scientist has his or her own specialist field and seeks a success in it.



  Doctor and Associate Professor Jon Pong Chan, Section Chief of Kim Chaek University of Technology, is an expert in the field of network system. He was awarded the title of Labour Hero of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in December Juche 93(2004).
  In the past he achieved many successes in the research for developing the Korean-style operating system with profound knowledge and high ability in his specialist field.
  He was involved from the beginning in the development of the "Red Star" operating system which started more than 20 years ago, making an active contribution to laying a solid foundation for developing the IT industry.
  When the modernization of the Tudan Duck Farm was underway, he realized the computerization of the production and business activities in a short time on the basis of the Korean-style operating system in cooperation with the researchers, making it possible to normalize the production on a high level.
  He participated in the establishment of the Computer Integrated Manufacture System at a number of factories and enterprises in the capital Pyongyang and across the country including the Pyongyang Condiments Factory, the Kumsanpho Fishery Station and the May 9 Catfish Farm.
  He gave pleasure to the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un and had photos taken with him several times for his active contribution to the establishment of the Computer Integrated Manufacture System for rational production.
  Jon Pong Chan says:
  "Everyone has his or her ideal and ambition.
  What are they?
  They are to solve the urgent problems ahead of others and on the highest level as desired by the country, I think."
  Jon Pong Chan is now devoting all his wisdom and passion to the introduction of the intelligent medical service system into the Pyongyang General Hospital in hearty response to the decisions of the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
