Extraordinary was his trust in the members of the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade.
Kim Jong Un visited the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station under construction in April 2015. He called at the construction site of the power station nearing completion again in September.
The Korean young people built a rock-firm dam in a steep valley near the sacred Mt. Paektu, where the Korean revolution rooted, overcoming harsh physiographical environment.
That day,Kim Jong Un said they had worked hard day and night for over 120 days since his last visit, creating a myth of heroic youth to the surprise of the world, and called all of them heroes. And he named the power station the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station.
He had the Monument to Feats of Heroic Youth and the Paektusan Hero Youth Exploits Exhibition Hall built there to tell the merits of the young people forever and honoured the shock-brigaders with the title of the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade.
In 2023, he entrusted them with an honourable task to build a street in the northern gateway to the capital city. Flying the flag of the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade given by him, they built Jonwi Street which is as good as a grand monument to the young people.
Indeed, the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade was a crystallization of the politics of attaching importance to the youth pursued by the Workers' Party of Korea that brought up the young people as heroes of the times and master creators.
At the departure ceremony,Kim Jong Un greatly encouraged the members of the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade, saying "Youths! Comrades! Forward toward victory!".
His trust in the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade carries his earnest request and wish that the myth of youth would not remain a memory but become the driving force enabling the Korean revolution to advance vigorously forever.
Today, too, the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade is performing miracles and feats for the prosperity of the country.
