Highest Prizes Won on Three Occasions
Acrobatics, a popular art arousing interest of the people, gives optimism and passion to the human life.
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is developing comic and animal feats onto a higher stage while directing primary efforts to the development of physical feats including aerial stunt and synchronized swimming. It is also developing magic based on modern science and technology.
The National Acrobatic Troupe of the DPRK is an authoritative one with a history of over 70 years.

It has been developed into a comprehensive acrobatic art organization creating and performing diverse acrobatic genres. Its many acrobatic pieces are widely known to the world. The aerial stunt, in particular, is officially recognized as the first-class acrobatics nobody can match.
Over the past 10 years, the acrobatic pieces of the DPRK have been awarded many top prizes including the Gold Prize, the Idol Gold Prize, the Gold Lion Prize and the Gold Elephant Prize at more than 20 circus festivals held in Europe and Asia.
They were awarded the highest prizes on three occasions this year.
The Idol Gold Prize was awarded to the physical feat "Flying Men" at the "Idol--2025" World Circus Festival, the Grand Prix to the physical feat "Flight on Iron Bar" at the 4th Bez Granits International Circus Festival and the Gold Lion Prize to the physical feat "Let's Fly Higher" at the 20th Wuqiao International Circus Festival of China.
The Idol World Circus Festival and the Wuqiao International Circus Festival of China are well known as the largest-scale ones in the world.
The Bez Granits International Circus Festival started in 2022 but it has become one of the internationally famous circus festivals in recent years.
The DPRK acrobats perfectly performed difficult movements of the physical feat "Flight on Iron Bar". Especially, the 5-turn forward-flipping from the swing, going through a ring while somersaulting forward and 3-turn forward-flipping with 3 cartwheels made the audience hold their breath.
The jury of the festival agreed on instituting Grand Prix, the highest prize of the festival, in addition to the gold, silver and copper prizes in order to decide the ranking of acrobatic pieces.
So, three gold prizes, four silver prizes and three copper prizes were awarded to the excellent pieces of different countries and the highest Grand Prix awarded to an acrobatic piece of the DPRK.

Those who witnessed the festival said with excitement that the young acrobats of the DPRK have high skills enough to win Grand Prix, the highest prize of the festival, and fully displayed their utmost ability, and that their performance was an unforgettable one.
Acrobatics is an art of feats. Therefore, how many somersaults are performed in the turning acrobatics is a basic criterion determining the technical level of a feat.
Acrobats of the DPRK cast 3 to 4 somersaults or even more. Such difficult acrobatic feats cannot be performed without preparing both physically and mentally.
The highest prizes won by the DPRK acrobats on three occasions this year show the Korean acrobatics developing day by day.
