High-Yielding Workteam Leader on the Ryongchon Plain
Meritorious Person of Socialist Patriotism Kim Hui Chol known as a high-yielding workteam head is the head of Workteam No. 8 of the farm.

While working as a workteam head at the farm for over 20 years, he made two workteams high-yielding ones.
At first, he worked as the head of Workteam No. 3.
At that time, his workteam had 20 hectares of low-yielding sandy fields. Workteam members were neglecting those fields, saying it was better to increase the yield on other fields rather than manuring them.
Kim Hui Chol started his work as workteam head with improving the land of those low-yielding fields, believing that a solid farmer never quarrels with his fields.
In order to reap a good harvest in all fields, he made a detailed analysis of soil of each plot and, on its basis, took active measures according to the soil conditions.
He carpeted the low-yielding fields with humus soil qualitatively and spread enough slaked lime on the acidified fields together with his workteam members.
And he applied a lot of bio-active compost of good quality to the fields with little humus.
In order to apply more manure to the fields, he gathered old mud from waterways and dug out peat here and there before carrying them even to the remote fields.
He also organized an emulation drive for carrying more manure to the fields and encouraged his workteam members to work with attachment to the fields.
All the low-yielding fields were ameliorated that year.
He and his team members actively introduced advanced farming methods including the organic one by freshwater snail to harvest more than eight tons of crops per hectare on the fields which used to yield less than four tons per hectare.
Afterwards, too, they overfulfilled their grain production plan every year, demonstrating the honour of the high-yielding workteam.
Kim Hui Chol took over Workteam No. 8, the most backward one of the farm, of his own accord and enabled it to rank among the high-yielding units like Workteam No. 3.
The more barren the fields were, the greater concern he paid to them. He manured the fields together with his workteam members to turn them into fertile land. He led his workteam members to do all the farm work in a scientific and technological way according to every farming process and overfulfil their grain production plan every year.

This year, too, he did farming with determination from the beginning of the year together with his workteam members and produced 1.5 tons of grains more than last year per hectare.
Now they are securing humic acid fertilizer and raw materials for fermented manure as well as sufficient amount of organic fertilizer in order to conclude the preparations for next year's farming in the main by the year-end.
Whenever he is asked about the secret of bumper harvest, he answers that the land pays for one's sweat and sincerity.
