The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, sent New Year greetings to the Korean people on January 1, 2026.
Kim Jong Un made a speech to celebrate the significant New Year 2026.

He extended warm greetings to the people across the country who have greeted the meaningful moment of the new year with pride and hope. Referring to the precious successes and phenomenal changes of the year 2025 which boosted the strength and dignity of the country with so fervent hopes and dear efforts, he said all the people, irrespective of job or workplace, gave full play to their self-respect, resourcefulness, strength and enthusiasm befitting Koreans, and they thus filled the pages of the chronicle for the great year with sincerity for the development and prosperity of their country and that only a great people can write such a great chronicle for the times and history.
Looking up to him full of passion, the Korean people recalled the remarkable changes in 2025.
The 3rd-stage 10,000 flats in the Hwasong area were built last year, too, giving pleasure to the people. In the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area Myongsasimni on the east coast was turned into four-kilometre-long stretch of beach crowded with people. A wonderful offshore farm and modern fishing-village residential district were built in Ragwon County where once there was only sandbank. There were built the Pyongyang General Hospital, the Kangdong County Hospital, wonderful hotels in the Samjiyon Tourist Area, regional-industry factories in 20 cities and counties and many rural houses retaining unique charm and peculiarities of Korean style.

The people shed tears of emotion at the warm love of Kim Jong Un who took their efforts into deep consideration first though he made the revolutionary journey of 2025 with his endless devotion in order to promote their well-being.
In the speech he made to celebrate the new year, Kim Jong Un said: I will never exchange for anything else the dignity and glory of living for our great people and waging the revolution for them, and live up to the expectations of all the people in the new year, too, by always remaining faithful to the socialism of their choice, to the sacred ideal of the people-first principle and to the dignity, rights and interests of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
In his passionate speech, the Korean people kept deep in their hearts the great declaration of the peerless patriot who would continue the days and months with infinite devoted service for the good of the people in 12 months of the new year, hold the people in higher esteem and demonstrate the dignity and might of the DPRK more highly.
And they were convinced that the solemn pledge made by the Party Central Committee before the people will realize all their dreams and ideals again and result in eternal victory and miraculous events and shining successes will be made in succession to make the people happier in the New Year 2026 as well.
Today, the Korean people are vigorously taking the road of advance in the new year with the will to follow Kim Jong Un to the end and greet all the glory under his leadership.
