By Combining Koryo Medicine with Modern Medicine
She was Kim Su Hyang at the Pothonggang District Hospital.
She presented the "Treatment Method for Relieving Clinical Symptoms of Aseptic Necrosis of Caput Femoris" to the exhibition. It was highly estimated for its short treatment and rest period and good curative effects.
Kim Su Hyang said a lot of people visited her to receive treatment by this method after the exhibition, and continued:
"In general, aseptic necrosis of caput femoris was regarded as one of the obstinate diseases that can be treated only by surgical operation. Recently, I have introduced to clinical practice a new treatment method combining modern medicine with Koryo medicine, the traditional medicine of our nation."
Over the past 10-odd years, Kim has made painstaking efforts to invent the new treatment method combining modern medicine with Koryo medicine.
Already in her university days, she delved into scientific and technological issues significant in clinical practice and was awarded the University Student Scientific Pursuit Prize in 2015.
After graduation from university, she further intensified her study of Koryo medicine while treating patients.
The main point of her study was to suspend the bone subsidence with drugs available in hospitals and strengthen the nutritive substances of bones with Koryo medicines to increase the effectiveness of the treatment.
It is her opinion that the value of treatment method is decided when it is not merely for discovery and creation, but makes contribution to the improvement of the people's health.
She worked day and night to complete the treatment method, analysing in detail the pharmacological action and coverage of Koryo medicinal materials and the application of Koryo medicines according to diseases.
In 2019, she finally developed a new injection and invented the treatment method combined with the administration of Koryo medicines and introduced it to clinical practice.
As for the superiority of the new treatment method, Doctor Pak Chung Ryol said:
"As a colleague, I think the treatment method of Doctor Kim Su Hyang is excellent. It relieves the patients of pain and surgical burdens with simple treatment free from complex surgical operation. This is a superior treatment method for increasing the recovery rate of patients by combining modern medicine with Koryo medicine."
Today, too, Kim Su Hyang is continuously devoting her passion to invent another treatment method based on modern medicine and Koryo medicine.
