One day in June 2016, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Silk Mill.
Looking round different places of the mill, he acquainted himself with its production and was deeply concerned about the life of workers. And he stressed the need to have the spirit of self-reliance and self-development based on modern science and technology.
When he dropped in at a new production site, he recognized instantly that the equipment there is modern and asked if it had been made with their own efforts.
The accompanying officials told him that they made it with their efforts in the spirit of self-reliance and self-development, which had been considered to be impossible in the past.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un opened protective windows of the equipment and saw its inside and outside, Workshop Head Kim Chol Song at the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Silk Mill said and continued:
"That day, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un called a researcher of a university who made a contribution to manufacturing the equipment and praised him time and again, saying it is great and he really did a great job.
And he learned about the operation of the equipment and expressed satisfaction again. He said it is necessary to raise the production capacity by making another series of such equipment and gave a task to build a perfect production process by automating even the packing process when making another equipment."
The high appreciation given by Kim Jong Un on the day represented his deep trust in the scientists, technicians and workers that they should increase the self-development based on science and technology.
Afterwards, a perfect production process could be built at the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Silk Mill.
