17 Years with Trolley Bus
Just at this time, however, trolley-bus drivers of the capital city find themselves on streets to start their services.
Among them is Kim Kwang Chun, driver of trolley bus No. 153 running from the Pyongyang Railway Station to Ryonmot-dong.
He is 44 years old this year. He has been working at the Ryonmot Trolley Bus Station since 2009.
He is very proud of his trolley bus and has a special attachment to his job.
There was an occasion for him to have it.
In 2018 when it was nearly 10 years after he started to drive the trolley bus, the respected ComradeKim Jong Un guided the trial run of the new trolley bus on two occasions, trying it out on the night of a cold winter day and in the midsummer heat. Kim Kwang Chun was greatly excited to hear the news.
He felt as if the trolley bus he drives every day is also associated with the devoted efforts ofKim Jong Un who is concerned to provide the people with convenience for traffic.
So, he managed his trolley bus more carefully and made active efforts to promote the convenience of the passengers. Thus, he became a labour innovator.
In September last year, he was invited to the celebrations of the 77th founding anniversary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea together with other labour innovators and meritorious persons across the country.
At that time, he had the honour to have a photo taken withKim Jong Un against the National Assembly Hall.
It is a unanimous desire of the entire Korean people to have a photo taken withKim Jong Un .
On the day when he realized the biggest wish in his life, Kim Kwang Chun couldn't sleep till late at night.
The following day, he volunteered to work in the most difficult shift at dawn and since then, he has found himself in street at 5 a.m. for bus service.
It is said that the dawn shift is most difficult for the trolley-bus drivers. So, it is not so easy to work at dawn almost every day.
Thinking that his job can contribute to helping the capital citizens go to work, however, Kim Kwang Chun went to work before others.
He said he was very tired sometimes, but whenever seeing the passengers brightly smiling at him, he is relieved of his pent-up fatigue and feels a pride of being a trolley-bus driver.
His saying represents his pure conscience and sincerity.
