To Improve the Qualifications of Teachers

The quality of education is precisely the qualifications of a teacher.
Growing in 2026 is the enthusiasm of the educational officials and educators to make a substantial improvement in the development of education.
Han Kwang Il, Vice-President of the Academy of Pedagogical Science, said that this year, the academy has set valuable scientific research projects conducive to the educational practice and is intensifying researches, and continued:

"We made a study of what measures are taken in different countries of the world to improve the qualifications, ability and professional character of teachers. On this basis, we are making researches for further developing the experience according to the actual conditions of our country and taking measures to overcome the deviations. We are also conducting researches for defining the direction capable of receiving elective education on the basis of having a correct understanding and assessment of the aptitudes and individuality of those leaving the junior middle schools on a nationwide scale."
The city and county teachers' in-service training centres across the country are pushing ahead in a planned way with the work for improving the qualifications of teachers all the more now that the 2nd program of universal 12-year compulsory education starts to be executed this year.

Especially, active preparations are promoted to guarantee the execution of the new education program with high ability, including the organization of demonstration and presentation of experience by teachers according to different forms of education.
Teacher training universities and colleges also conduct the work to improve the ability of students in various forms and methods.
The Pyongyang Teachers Training College won several times at national contests including the assessment of specialized teaching practical ability of students of teachers training universities and colleges last year. On the basis of the experience, the college is actively studying and applying excellent educational methods and techniques.
Deputy Rector Pak Myong Il said the work for introducing teaching methods and educational robots created and made by his college into all other teachers training colleges across the country is promoted in real earnest, and continued:
"In order to prepare the students to give lessons according to the ages and mental qualities of children, we induce them to create and present in public new methods for teaching the children easily and interestingly at the academic contests which had been held in the way of written form, increasing their enthusiasm for learning."

In order to strengthen the practical education the college has pioneered over 10 major practical subjects and organizes presentation of technology in education at least once a week to make all the students active learners and pursuers.
The educational officials and educators are making positive efforts to make ours advanced education, always bearing in mind that the future of the country depends on them.
