Songhwa Street
Songhwa Street is situated in the Songsin and Songhwa areas, the eastern gateway to the capital city of Pyongyang.It is the first entity of the construction of 50,000 flats in Pyongyang that took place between 2021 and 2025 according to the decision of the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Ground was broken for the street on March 23, 2021 and it was inaugurated on April 11, 2022.
The street covers an area of 56 hectares and over 160 superhigh-rise and high-rise apartment houses, public buildings, public service amenities and ornamental structures form an artistic harmony with the residential quarters.
The symbolic building of this street is the 80-storeyed apartment house depicting fireworks.
The overpass is not merely a means for the people to cross the road, but a structure of new form that overlooks the view of the street and provides them with different kinds of services from the public amenities.
Happy laughter is heard everywhere in Songhwa Street where ordinary people are living.
