Premier makes field survey of different sectors in South and North Hamgyong provinces

Thae Song, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the
Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Premier of the
Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field
survey of different sectors in South and North Hamgyong provinces.
He visited the Ryongsong Machine Complex and said the officials, technicians and workers should perfectly finish the remodelling project planned this year, raise the actual rate of material processing in the production of ordered equipment and fully ensure the quality of products.
At the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex and the February 8 Vinalon Complex he stressed the need to normalize the production of fertilizer and basic chemical products, hasten the construction of slow-acting fertilizer production base and further intensify the research into the application of melamine resin, thus making a substantial contribution to the agricultural production and the improvement of the people's living.
Acquainting himself with the construction of the first-stage project of the Tanchon Power Station, he underscored the need to make full preparations for its inauguration including the test run of the generating equipment.
At the Sangnong Mine he underlined the need to give definite precedence to heading excavation, strengthen the haulage system to increase the amount of mining and perfect the refining process. And at the Hamhung Wheat-Processing Factory he stressed the need to expand the wheat-processing capacity and supply good-quality flour to the regional-industry factories.
Looking round the refractory workshop of Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, he stressed the need to take technical measures for decisively improving the quality of fireproof materials to raise the efficiency of furnaces and increase the working rate of equipment and thus attain the iron and steel production goal set by the Party unconditionally.
At the Musan Mining Complex he called for promoting the expansion of the concentrated iron ore production capacity including large-scale blast as planned and making good use of the existing production base to accelerate the production growth.
