Meeting with victorious wartime generation held
A meeting with the victorious wartime generation and an art performance took place in the capital city of Pyongyang on the 27th on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.
The war veterans and wartime meritorious persons were warmly welcomed at the venue of the celebrations.
The rostrum was taken by leading officials of the Party, government and armed forces organs together with war veterans.
Present there were officials of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, chief secretaries of the provincial committees of the Workers' Party of Korea, the officers and men of the artillery sub-unit under the 4th Corps of the Korean People’s Army who were invited as special guests to the celebrations of the V-Day and other service personnel of the People's Army, officials of ministries and national agencies, officials and meritorious persons in the city of Pyongyang, students of the revolutionary schools and youth and students.
Invited to the celebrations were diplomatic representatives and staff members of the missions of different countries in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Pak Thae Song, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and Premier of the Cabinet of the DPRK, in his speech, sent warm congratulations to all the war veterans and wartime meritorious persons across the country upon authorization of the Party and the government.
He said the meeting is an emotional and auspicious event which is celebrated by the heroic generation involved in the hard-fought war for the day of victory, a sacred start of all the glory, together with the new generation who won the top-record victory and undying honour in the history of the country by carrying forward their noble soul.
He ardently called upon all to go forward with redoubled courage for the honour of the victor nation to be handed down to posterity and the eternal dignity and prosperity of the glorious DPRK under the leadership of ComradeKim Jong Un .

Amid the playing of the song "Honour to the Victors in the Great Years", school and other children presented bouquets to the war veterans and wartime meritorious persons in the auditorium.
Put on the stage of the performance were wartime songs and songs in praise of war victory showing the heroic spirit of Korea that had risen like a volcano of justice and defence against the imperialist tyranny and the history of resistance of the indomitable and strong people. The performance was applauded by the audience.
