Public procession and torchlight evening gala held to celebrate 80th anniversary of WPK
The public procession and torchlight evening gala for celebrating the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea took place at Kim Il Sung Square on the 11th.
Amid the playing of the state welcome music, Pak Thae Song and Choe Ryong Hae, Members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, and other senior officials of the Party and government came out to the rostrum.
The rostrum was also taken by veteran cadres who had worked in important posts of the state for a long time, commanding officers of the large combined units of the Korean People's Army, labour innovators and meritorious persons.
Invited to the event were members of the overseas Koreans' congratulatory groups and delegations, overseas compatriots, foreign guests on a visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and foreign diplomatic envoys in the DPRK.
The seats reserved for special guests were taken by the participants in the celebrations of the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK, members of the relay teams carrying letters of loyalty, officials of the ministries, national agencies and other institutions and industrial establishments and working people in Pyongyang.
A speech was made by Ju Chang Il, Alternate Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and Department Director of the Party Central Committee.
He said the single-hearted procession to pass through the square of glory recorded with the history of victory of the Korean revolution would grandiosely show the past, today and future of the WPK which laid a solid cornerstone despite serious challenges and pressure and demonstrate all over the world the will of the new generations to remain boundlessly loyal to the socialist cause of Juche led by the Party.
Amid the solemn playing of the song "People Pay Tribute to Their Party", the public procession started with a float depicting the tower symbolic of the WPK at the head.
Columns symbolizing the decades of the glorious struggle moved forward one after another, showing how the 80-year-long history of modern Korea could shine at the zenith of dignity and honour.
When the public procession was over, colourful fireworks were set off.
Then there took place the torchlight evening gala of youth and students "Patriotic Youths, the Reserve of the WPK, Forward!".
The public procession and torchlight evening gala for celebrating the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK fully demonstrated the true features and rosy future of the single-hearted unity peculiar to our state in which the Party and the masses of the people formed an integral whole, and the invincible spirit of socialist Korea building an ideal society of the powerful and happiest people under the leadership of the great ComradeKim Jong Un .
