Mother's Day significantly celebrated in DPRK
  The Mother's Day was significantly celebrated in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
  People visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the supreme temple of Juche, and paid high tribute to the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il who are laid in state there.
  A lot of people laid bouquets and flowers before the bronze statues and mosaic murals of the great leaders on Mansu Hill and other parts of the country and paid homage to them.
  Meetings of awarding the Communist Mother Honour Prize were held across the country on the occasion of the Mother's Day.
  Officials of the provinces, cities and counties met and encouraged the exemplary women workers who are contributing to the prosperity of the country.
  Meetings and real story-telling were held in different parts of the country including South Phyongan and North Hwanghae provinces. They doubled the participants' enthusiasm for revolution and patriotic zeal to bring up the rising generations wonderfully as pillars of the country by following the spiritual world and view of life of the communist mothers and meritorious persons of socialist patriotism and greet the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea as a glorious meeting of victors by vigorously conducting the movement for increased production and economization at their work places.
  Performances were given in the capital city and provinces, adding to the joy of the holiday.
  Women's union officials across the country called on the war veterans to share joy with them. The souvenir shops and flower shops and counters throughout the country were crowded with the people selecting bouquets and flowers for their dear mothers.
