Successes made in oceanic researches
The institute ensured the scientific accuracy, correctness and promptness of marine forecast on a high level and carried out the basic research task for using oceanic energy on the West Sea of Korea this year. It collected oceanologic data and developed and introduced application programs to expand the tideland reclamation stage by stage, and achieved many other successes in the researches for making effective use of marine resources.
On the basis of its successes, the institute puts spurs to the marine scientific researches conducive to the economic development of the country and the promotion of the people's living such as those for the establishment of a marine forecast system in the waters of offshore farms on the West Sea and for the evaluation of the tidal and sea wind power resource quantities.
