DPRK weightlifters back from Qatar International Weightlifting Cup 2025
  The weightlifters of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea returned home after participating in the Qatar
International Weightlifting Cup 2025.
  The competition brought together more than 250 weightlifters from over 20 countries including the DPRK, Uzbekistan, Morocco and Algeria. The DPRK weightlifters won 18 gold medals and established three new world records.
  In the women's 58-kg event, O Kwang Ok lifted 105 kilograms in snatch, 133 kilograms in clean and jerk (new world record) and 238 kilograms in total (new world record), bagging three gold medals.
  In the men's 79-kg event, Ri Chong Song lifted 162 kilograms in snatch, 204 kilograms in clean and jerk and 366 kilograms in total (new world record), winning three gold medals.
  Kim Hyok Song, Paek Hye Jong, Pak Jin Hae and Kim Kyong Ryong took the first place in snatch, clean and jerk and total respectively at the men's 65-kg and women's 53-kg, 63-kg and 77-kg events.
  The weightlifters were warmly greeted by officials concerned and their families at the Pyongyang International Airport on the 27th.
