Joint national meeting of KCU organizations held
  A joint national meeting of the Korean Children's Union organizations was held in the capital city of Pyongyang on the 15th to celebrate the 84th birth anniversary of the great leader Generalissimo Kim Jong Il.
  Present at the meeting were students of the Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and the Chilgol Revolutionary School, children's union delegates from the provinces, schoolchildren in Pyongyang and those to join the Korean Children's Union.
  Invited there were Kim Su Gil, Chief Secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Jong Sun, Department Director of the Central Committee of the WPK, youth league officials and meritorious persons and labour innovators in the city.
  Mun Chol, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, made a report.
  A ceremony of accession to the Korean Children's Union was held at the meeting.
  Led by Kim Su Gil, the schoolchildren to join the union took an oath.
  Officials, meritorious persons and labour innovators wound red ties around their necks and pinned children's union badges on their chests.
  The schoolchildren who joined the union made the first salute of children's union members, loudly responding to the slogan "Let us always be ready for the socialist motherland!".
  Then congratulatory speeches were made.
