Koreans in Japan significantly celebrated the auspicious holiday in February.
A meeting of officials of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) for laying a floral basket before the portrait of the great leader Kim Jong Il was held at the Korean Hall in Tokyo of Japan on the 13th.
The participants in the meeting made a bow to Kim Jong Il, benevolent father of Chongryon and the Koreans in Japan, praying for his eternal life.
A central meeting of Koreans in Japan was held at the Korean Hall on the occasion of the 84th birth anniversary of the great leader Generalissimo Kim Jong Il.
Present at the meeting were Chairman Ho Jong Man, First Vice-Chairman and Director of the Organization Department Pak Ku Ho, Vice-Chairman Nam Sung U, Vice-Chairman and Secretary General Pae Jin Gu, Vice-Chairman Jo Il Yon and Vice-Chairman and Director of the International Department So Chung On of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, Kang Chu Ryon, Vice-Chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon and Chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Democratic Korean Women in Japan, Ri Myong Yu, Chairman of the Central Auditing Commission of Chongryon, directors of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, the Director of the Research Institute on History of Korean Residents in Japan and chairpersons of the Chongryon headquarters in the Kanto region.
The national anthem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was played at the meeting.
First Vice-Chairman and Director of the Organization Department Pak Ku Ho made a report.
He praised the great Generalissimo Kim Jong Il as an outstanding leader who made Chongryon a pioneer of patriotism, an example of patriotism and loyalty and a model of the overseas compatriots organizations of the world and as the father of Chongryon and Japan-resident Koreans and defender of their destiny.
He said the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un is ushering in the heyday of revolution unprecedented in the history of the homeland with his firm will to translate the patriotic desire of Kim Jong Il for building a powerful country into a brilliant reality.
A congratulatory letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.
A lecture was given by the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon at the Korean Hall on the 14th on the same occasion.
