Efforts made to raise educational level in rural areas

The educational sector is pushing ahead with the work to improve the educational level of schools in rural areas and the academic level of regional universities and colleges.
Excellent teachers of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology and other national universities and provincial-level universities conducted a number of practical courses and itinerant training courses on the spot or through video conferencing for regional universities and colleges.
The Central Training Centre for Teachers and some educational units in the city of Pyongyang rendered assistance to the education of schools in the countryside and mountainous areas. The instructors of the provincial training centres for teachers and the city and county teachers' in-service training centres and the excellent teachers of urban schools went out to schools in the rural and mountainous areas to improve the qualifications of teachers and raise the abilities of students through training courses, class demonstrations, inspections of classes at work and discussions on teaching.
As a result, the qualifications of many rural school teachers have been improved and the level of thousands of rural schools throughout the country raised to that of urban schools in recent few years.
