Academic degrees and titles conferred on intellectuals
State academic degrees and titles were conferred on the intellectuals who made scientific research findings conducive to the economic development of the country and the improvement of the people's living in hearty response to the idea of the Workers' Party of Korea on attaching importance to science and technology.
Vice-Premier Jon Sung Guk and intellectuals were present at the awarding ceremony held on the 9th.
A decision of the State Commission for Conferment of Academic Degrees and Titles of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was read out and the title of candidate academician was conferred on Vice-President Kim Jin Myong and Department Heads Kang Jin U and O Song Chol at Kim Il Sung University and five others.
Professorship was conferred on Director Jang Yong Man and Vice-Department Head Om Hyok Min at Kim Il Sung University and five others and doctorate on Kim Kwang Ryong, Department Head of the Central Cadres Training School of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Chol Jin, Section Chief of Kim Il Sung University, and 75 others.
