Irrigation projects promoted
North Phyongan Province is pushing ahead with repairs and expansion of the earth canals of the Thaechon Power Station No. 5-Unjon, Jongju and Kwaksan waterways and construction of pumping stations necessary for the irrigation of paddy and non-paddy fields.
North Hwanghae Province finishes the work to water the new paddy fields including the expansion of waterways and the installation of pumping equipment with large capacity in Hwangju and Yonsan counties.
South Phyongan Province has finished building more than 100 pumping stations and is directing efforts to the construction of paddy-field irrigation structures such as that of structures of drainage canals for flood areas.
Other regions are also conducting the work for finishing the paddy and non-paddy field irrigation projects as planned.
