80th founding anniversary of "Minju Joson" marked

A meeting was held at the People's Palace of Culture on the 3rd to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of "Minju Joson".
Present at the meeting were officials concerned, officials, journalists, editors, employees and meritorious persons of the Minju Joson Offices, and officials of relevant units.
Kim Pong Do, Editor-in-Chief of the Minju Joson Offices, made a commemorative report.
He said:
Considering the importance of founding the organ of the government right after liberation of the country, the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung founded a newspaper on June 4, 1946, named it "Minju Joson" and strengthened and developed it into a mighty ideological weapon powerfully leading the entire people to socialist construction in every period and at every stage of the revolution and construction.
In the whole period of his revolutionary leadership, the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il meticulously led the "Minju Joson" to invariably keep its revolutionary character and nature as an authoritative newspaper representing the stand of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea with his unusual wisdom and energetic ideological and theoretical activities.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un saw that a revolutionary change was brought about in the edition of the newspaper in the new era of the Juche revolution and wisely led the "Minju Joson" to discharge its honourable responsibility and duty as the organ of the government.
Up to date since it declared its birth all over the world, the "Minju Joson" has remained infinitely loyal to the historic mission as the ideological standard-bearer of the Workers' Party of Korea in propagating the high dignity and remarkable change of the DPRK at home and abroad and arousing the entire people to the sacred struggle for prosperity of the country. This is the proudest review of the 80-year-long history of the "Minju Joson", the reporter stressed.
