Parade and evening gala take place to mark founding anniversary of DPRK
















A parade and an evening gala took place in the capital city of Pyongyang on the 8th on the occasion of the 78th founding anniversary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
The foot of time-honoured Mansu Hill, where the bronze statues of the great leadersKim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il stand, is crowded with Pyongyang citizens gathered to take part in the significant parade.
Before starting the parade, Kim Su Gil, Chief Secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, made a speech.
Saying that they are going to demonstrate a firm faith and will of the people to remain loyal to the beloved country and glorify its mightiness and beauty forever on the occasion of the significant national day, he called on all to advance vigorously towards brighter and happier future redoubling self-respect and valour of the Koreans.
The parade started with the rank with a large-size flag of the DPRK in the van amid the playing of the song "Song of the proclamation of the People's Republic".
The citizens of the capital warmly encouraged at the streets the marching procession advancing holding placards including "Long Live the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Our Glorious Motherland!"
The procession enteredKim Il Sung Square demonstrating fervent desire to greet victory and glory together with the national flag which was fluttered by the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung , firmly defended by the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il and raised high in the sky of the new century by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un .
The rostrum was taken by the leading officials of the Party, government and armed forces organs including Pak Thae Song, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and Premier of the Cabinet of the DPRK, senior officials of the ministries, national agencies and working people's organizations.
Members of diplomatic corps in the DPRK took the reserved seats for guests.
The labour innovators, meritorious persons invited to the celebrations of national day, participants in the 15th National Conference of Teachers, service personnel of the People's Army, youth and students and children of revolutionary schools sent enthusiastic cheers to the procession entering the square.
A ceremony of hoisting the flag of the DPRK took place solemnly.
The entire participants expressed noble respects looking up to the dignified national flag, with great pride, ardent patriotism and confidence in bright future.
The procession passed through the square looking up to the flag fluttering vigorously in the night sky of joyful September.
Then, an evening gala of youth and students took place in splendour.
The melodies of songs including "Passion" and "We Are the Koreans" roared the square and spectacular fireworks were set off beautifully decorating the evening gala.
