According to his request, we introduce the "Regional Development 20×10 Policy" and the achievements made in the course of its implementation along with their photos.
We hope that this article will be of help to those who are interested in the "Regional Development 20×10 Policy" powerfully promoted in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea at present.
The 10th Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly was held in Pyongyang, the capital of the DPRK, on January 15, 2024.
The session advanced the "Regional Development 20×10 Policy" on pushing ahead with the renovation of the regional-industry factories in all cities and counties across the country as an important state policy.
The main content of the policy is to make the Workers' Party of Korea keep hold on the construction of modern regional-industry factories in 20 counties every year as an unerring policy task, carry it out successfully and thus further raise the basic material and cultural living standards of the people in all cities and counties and, in another word, across the country within ten years.

The 19th Enlarged Meeting of the Political Bureau of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK took measures to successfully complete the important plans for wiping out the centuries-old backwardness of the regions in the coming ten years and promoting the well-being of the regional people.
Thanks to the first-year struggle for carrying out this gigantic work in ten years' time, regional-industry factories were built in 20 regions including Songchon, Jaeryong, Sukchon, Unpha, Kyongsong, Unchon, Yonthan, Hamju and Onchon counties, giving the people pleasure in enjoying a new life and a new happiness.

In 2025, too, the second year of the implementation of the "Regional Development 20×10 Policy", the construction of regional-industry factories was persistently hastened in 20 cities and counties including the city of Sinpho and Jangyon, Jongphyong, Yomju and Kilju counties.

As said above, modern regional-industry factories have been built in 40 cities and counties tantamount to one-fifth of the regions across the country since the start of the regional-industry revolution, laying a firm foundation for the sustainable development of the regions concerned.
It is the intention of the WPK that the regional development policy in the new era should not be confined to the construction of light-industry factories but should be a comprehensive policy dealing with public health, science and education.
The WPK made a bold decision to build advanced city and county hospitals, sci-tech dissemination bases and grain management facilities in parallel with the construction of regional-industry factories in 20 cities and counties.
According to it, the Kangdong County, Kusong City and Ryonggang County hospitals were inaugurated and leisure complexes as well as regional-industry factories wonderfully built in Kangdong and Jongphyong counties in 2025.

It is the intention of the WPK that the regional development policy in the new era should not be confined to the construction of light-industry factories but should be a comprehensive policy dealing with public health, science and education.
The WPK made a bold decision to build advanced city and county hospitals, sci-tech dissemination bases and grain management facilities in parallel with the construction of regional-industry factories in 20 cities and counties.
According to it, the Kangdong County, Kusong City and Ryonggang County hospitals were inaugurated and leisure complexes as well as regional-industry factories wonderfully built in Kangdong and Jongphyong counties in 2025.

The WPK regards it as its main duty to steadily develop in depth the policy for the well-being of the people and brings about great changes desired and welcomed most by them with stubborn practice.
Offshore farms were built in the city of Sinpho and Ragwon County under the wise leadership of the WPK to develop the regional economy and epochally improve the people's living by actively developing natural and economic resources of the regions and making an effective use of them.

2026 is the third year of the implementation of the new regional development policy.
Public health facilities and leisure complexes as well as regional-industry factories will be built all at the same time in 20 regions including Unnyul County this year. This means that nearly one-third of the cities and counties across the DPRK will be transformed.
Now the entire Korean people have turned out as one in the struggle for the comprehensive development of socialism with the belief that the whole country will prosper all together and everyone enjoy a happy and ideal life in the present age.
The "Voice of Korea" will certainly inform you of the completion of new entities of regional transformation this year, too.
