Jonwi Street, a Grand Monument to Youth

Jonwi Street has been built at the northern gateway to the capital city of Pyongyang as a symbol of socialist development and future.

It was built by young people themselves only in one year's time. It is a grand monument to youth that forms a large architectural group with high-rise and super-high-rise apartment houses of various styles, including an iconic 80-storey apartment building, and neighborhood-serving amenities and public buildings.
On February 25, 2023, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gave the young people a huge task of building a new street, showing his deep trust in them.
Coming out to the venue of groundbreaking ceremony, he broke ground first to signal the start of the project. He gave strength and courage to the young people, saying they should become performers of feats and victors in the capital city construction.
That day, he expressed the belief that he would be able to witness, in their energetic endeavour at the construction site, the fact that the mettle and fighting spirit of the young people to perform, in whatever they do, feats which will represent the times and remain in history, which pulsated among young people of the preceding generations, still pulsates among young people of the current generation.
His meaningful speech at the groundbreaking ceremony served as a motive force that enabled the young people to fully display the spirit and valour of youth in the construction of the new street.
Actually, Kim Jong Un paid special attention to the construction project given to young people of many construction projects and took all necessary measures for it.
He always thought of young people and showed all his love to them. He ensured that the youth shock-brigaders were provided with the diary "My Youth" so that they could remember their proud days and sent all sorts of foodstuffs and fruits to them whenever opportunities permitted. He led the young people to grow up ideologically and mentally and be tempered in a revolutionary way in the course of building the new street.

The inaugural ceremony of Jonwi Street was held in the presence of Kim Jong Un on May 14, 2024.
That day, he cut the inauguration tape and met young innovators who displayed their labour merits in the construction and highly praised them for their efforts.
Jonwi Street built by young people with their pure loyalty and ardent patriotism will shine in history forever as a grand monument to youth demonstrating the rosy future of the powerful country of Juche which will be prosperous everlastingly.
