Attaching Importance to KCU Congresses

The respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un is making great painstaking efforts to bring up the members of the Korean Children's Union as strong pillars of the future.

Illuminating the Way Ahead of the Korean Children's Union and Its Members

On June 6, 2012 Marshal Kim Jong Un came out to the venue of the National Meeting of the Korean Children's Union held in celebration of the 66th anniversary of its founding.

That day, he made a congratulatory speech under the title "Become Pillars Supporting a Prosperous Future Korea".
Teacher Kim Ra Gyong at the Ryomyong Primary School said she participated in the meeting as a 12-year-old member of the Children's Union and heard his speech with great excitement, and continued:
"At that time, the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un said, in his congratulatory speech, that the members of the Korean Children's Union are treasures more valuable than billions of tons of gold, and represent the hope and future.
What is important for the members of the Korean Children's Union is to prepare themselves as able revolutionaries who are knowledgeable, morally sound and physically strong, and pillars of a thriving Korea, and the future of a thriving Korea will be represented first in their academic records, he added.
He also said the Workers' Party of Korea places great trust in the KCU school instructors and the class teachers--the KCU sub-branch instructors."

Afterwards, Marshal Kim Jong Un made public famous works on several occasions such as the Eighth and Ninth Congresses of the Korean Children's Union to give instructions on bringing up the members of the Korean Children's Union as true sons and daughters, and young revolutionaries, of the socialist country.
Student Sin Sin Hyok at Kim Il Sung University, who had participated in the Eighth Congress of the Korean Children's Union as a delegate, said:
"At the Eighth Congress of the Korean Children's Union the fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un heard our speeches, gave a big hand to us and made a significant speech under the title 'Let the Members of the Korean Children's Union Become True Sons and Daughters, Young Revolutionaries, of the Socialist Country'. In the speech, he said the members of the Korean Children's Union, bearing deep in mind the earnest request of their motherland, teachers and parents, should study hard and possess beautiful socialist moral traits. He also said the pledge they took in front of the flag of the Korean Children's Union is the first vow they made to their motherland, and their life in the organizations of the Korean Children's Union is the process of political activities through which they keep this pledge.
In particular, the work of the Korean Children's Union should be regarded as an important undertaking that has bearing on the destiny of the country and nation and future of the revolution, and given Party-oriented guidance, he stressed."
In the letter titled "March Towards the Future of a Powerful Country under the Unfurled Flag of the Korean Children's Union" he sent to those attending the Ninth Congress of the Korean Children's Union, Marshal Kim Jong Un said the days in the Korean Children's Union are the most priceless days in their lives and added that the organizations of the Korean Children's Union should be strong if they are to train their members as stout people, as fertile soil produces good fruits. And he put forward specific tasks to strengthen the organizations of the Korean Children's Union including the increase of level of the KCU school instructors, the enhancement of their responsibility and the decisive improvement of the role of the youth league.

Measures to Hold Congress of the Korean Children's Union with Splendour

The press in different countries of the world reported the news that the National Meeting of the Korean Children's Union was grandly held in June 2012 in celebration of the 66th anniversary of its founding.
"Invited to Pyongyang were more than 20,000 excellent primary and middle school children specially selected across the country including remote mountain villages and isolated islands of the DPRK."
"State measures were taken to mobilize special airplane for young delegates to the celebrations."
"All the delegates were awarded the certificates with a portrait of leader Kim Jong Un, which will be handed down as an heirloom."
"Leader Kim Jong Un participated in the National Meeting of the Korean Children's Union for celebrating the 66th anniversary of its founding and wished the new generations a rosy future."
"It is possible only in socialist Korea to grandly celebrate the founding anniversary of the Korean Children's Union despite the unprecedentedly vicious anti-DPRK moves of the US imperialists."
Marshal Kim Jong Un proposed celebrating the founding anniversary of the Korean Children's Union as a grand festival in 2012.
He told officials that he intends to ensure that the founding anniversary of the Korean Children's Union is grandly celebrated along with the Youth Day that year as the youth movement is important.
Later, he said to officials that the celebrations of the 66th anniversary of the Korean Children's Union will be held in Pyongyang with splendour and that it is a great, noteworthy event unprecedented in the history of the country that the members of the Korean Children's Union across the country gather to celebrate the 66th anniversary of its founding.
Marshal Kim Jong Un energetically led the Seventh, Eighth and Ninth Congresses of the Korean Children's Union to be grand meetings which are of great significance in strengthening the Korean Children Union and bringing up its members as young revolutionaries and patriots.
Busy as he was with the state affairs, he learned in detail about the composition of delegates of the Children's Union, the scale and duration of event, itinerary, resting conditions, transportation and attire, illuminated the orientation and ways for holding the congress with success and took all necessary measures.

Great Love for Delegates

Instructor Jang Chol Min at the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, said young delegates of the Korean Children's Union received the warm affection of Marshal Kim Jong Un at every meeting, and continued:
"The fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un said school uniforms, bags and shoes, socks and stockings for the delegates to the Ninth Congress of the Korean Children's Union should be made especially well and they should be dressed well as there is a saying that clothes make the man. He saw that the bodies of 5,000 delegates across the country were measured to make their clothes on the highest level at famous garment factories.
He considered the cold season during the congress in advance and guided designs of padded clothes one by one, saying the young delegates would look pretty when they put on nice winter clothes."
Marshal Kim Jong Un also took measures for delegates to be treated during the congress and let a girl receive medical treatment in a hospital until she was completely restored to health.

On the last day of 2022, during the congress, he appreciated a grand performance given in celebration of the New Year together with the participants in the congress and had a photo taken with the delegates on the New Year's Day of 2023.

He had photo session with the delegates of the Children's Union at every congress as well as on the day, making the people across the country envy them.
The children are before and above the people whom the Workers' Party of Korea regards as the God.
Marshal Kim Jong Un attaches great importance to the congresses of the Korean Children's Union and glorifies them in history forever as he thinks that Korea is strong because such successors and reserves as the members of the Korean Children's Union are growing uprightly and faithfully, always adding freshness and vibrant power to the ranks of revolutionaries.
Under his care, the Korean Children's Union is vigorously advancing to the rosy future, flying its flag high.
