Great event that provided a new milestone for development of DPRK-Russia relations
President of State Affairs Kim Jong Un meets Russian President at Vostochnyy Cosmodrome
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, had a historic meeting with Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation, at the "Vostochnyy" Cosmodrome in the Amur Region of the Far Eastern Region on September 13.
The train carrying Kim Jong Un arrived at the "Vostochnyy" Cosmodrome at 13.00 hours in local time.
When he got off the train, a guard of honour of the three services of the armed forces of the Russian Federation courteously received him, paying the highest respects to him.
Kim Jong Un exchanged greetings with Alexandr Kozlov, Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia, and other officials and headed for the place of meeting to see Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation.
He was accompanied by Foreign Minister of the DPRK Choe Son Hui, Marshals of the Korean People's Army Ri Pyong Chol and Pak Jong Chon, Minister of National Defence of the DPRK Kang Sun Nam, Secretaries of the Central Committee of the WPK O Su Yong and Pak Thae Song and other officials of the Party, the government and the military and suite members.
The flags of the DPRK and the Russian Federation were fluttering in front of the carrier rocket assembly and trial complex building where the top leaders of the DPRK and Russia would meet.
When the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the WPK and President of the State Affairs of the DPRK, arrived, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation, warmly received him.
Kim Jong Un gladly met President Putin and exchanged cordial greetings with him.
President Putin warmly welcomed Kim Jong Un for having visited the Russian Federation again at the significant and crucial time in the development of Russia-DPRK relations.
Kim Jong Un expressed thanks to President Putin for having kindly invited and received him though busy leading the whole affairs of the state and said he was pleased with the meeting held under the very special and peculiar circumstances.
He looked round the "Vostochnyy" Cosmodrome with the Russian President.
He was guided by Yuri Borisov, General Manager of the Russian State-Run Company "Roscosmos", and Nikolai Nestechuk, Director of the Cosmic Ground and Substructure Operation Centre.
Kim Jong Un, together with President Putin, looked round the carrier rocket assembly and trial complex, being briefed on the detailed technical specifications, assembly and launch of carrier rockets including "Soyuz--2" and "Angara".
Going round the construction site of the carrier rockets "Soyuz--2" and "Angara" launching complexes, he heard about their operation and the construction, the successes and experiences gained by Russia in the field of space industry and the prospect of its future development.
Kim Jong Un highly estimated that the "Vostochnyy" Cosmodrome had been wonderfully built according to Putin's strategic plan of space development and was achieving precious successes, and sincerely hoped that the noble spirit and tradition of the powerful Russia which pioneered the road to the outer space would be brilliantly carried forward.
He expressed deep thanks to Putin for having organized the fruitful visit to the important cosmodrome in person and accompanied him.
President Putin showed his car to Kim Jong Un and had a cordial talk with him.
Kim Jong Un wrote in the visitor's book; "Immortal will be the honour of Russia that produced the first space conquerors. Kim Jong Un September 13, 2023" in commemoration of his visit to the "Vostochnyy" Cosmodrome.
