Real Meaning of Modernization
The Kumsong Tractor Factory in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is inventing and manufacturing a lot of effective and good-quality tractors and farm machines favoured by farmers while establishing the farm machine production process suited to the world level.
One day in August 2023, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the factory.
When he called at the factory in November 2017, he indicated a concrete orientation and ways to change it into a core factory of world level playing a vanguard role in realizing the comprehensive mechanization of agriculture and solved all the important problems.
That day, he acquainted himself in detail with the factory which was wonderfully built or rebuilt in a little over five years, and its remodelling and production.
Han Song U, Official of the State General Bureau of Industrial Design said that while looking round the production sites, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un taught one by one how to improve the quality of farm machines, and continued:
"At that time, an accompanying official made a report that the quality of the 80-horsepower tractor made by our workers was improved. At this, Kim Jong Un got on the tractor, saying he would try to drive. After driving inside the compound of the factory, he did not get off the tractor but asked me why the saddle was bumpy even though the tractor ran on the plain ground. As I answered that it seemed to be bumpy because of the saddle spring with poor strength, he said farmers would feel inconvenience in driving such a tractor on downy paddy fields, as it is bumpy even on the plain ground. Like this, he considered even the physical fatigue of farmers. Looking up to him, I got to know how much he is concerned about the farmers and had a deep understanding of his intention."
Kim Jong Un taught once again that the performance of farm machines and their aesthetic value are important but more important is the convenience of farmers in modernizing the factory.
He stressed that the
result of remodelling of the Kumsong Tractor Factory should be expressed in the production of tractors and farm machines favoured by the agricultural workers.
Modernization should be done so that the agricultural workers can actually benefit from it. It is the real meaning of modernization taught by Kim Jong Un to the officials that day.
