Songhwa Street is an ideal street for the people. It was built thanks to the ardent love of the Workers' Party of Korea for the people, which regards it as its cherished desire to provide them with more stable and civilized living conditions.
The street has various forms of skyscraping and high-rise apartment houses for 10,000 families including a modern and unique 80-storied one, public health and educational institutions and welfare service amenities which were distributed conveniently. And a number of peculiar parks, overpass and decorative structures are in artistic harmony with the residential quarters.
The Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea set forth the task to basically solve the housing problem of the capital citizens by building 10,000 flats in the city of Pyongyang every year during the five-year plan period.
Songhwa Street was built for the first time according to the plan.
