Workteam of Inventors
The Printing Workteam of the Songyo Unha Garment Factory is a thrice model technical innovation unit.
Chief Engineer Ryu Jong Hui said that at the Printing Workteam its head is the first to make at least one invention or technical innovation every year, and continued:
"There is a pioneer and standard-bearer in every work, I think.
Today the Printing Workteam of our factory has become the pioneer of invention and technical innovation, which is unthinkable apart from the role of its Head Ri Chol Man."
Ri Chol Man, a demobilized solider, has been working at the Printing Workteam for over 10 years.
One day in the fifth year after he started to work at the workteam, he happened to see operators wasting the printing materials by mixing them by guess.
Of course, they were very small, but he could not neglect it because he was always thinking of how to increase the production of his workteam.
So, he made a technical innovation capable of turning out more products with the same amount of materials by putting the combination of the printing materials on a scientific basis.
In the course, he thought that all the members of the workteam can make technical innovations since they were given the secondary general education under the benefits of the socialist education system, and then, the production can be more revitalized.
In the long run, he could find many factors of invention and technical innovation in the course of production activities.
He recommended a woman worker to make a technical innovation for saving electricity and labour in the production of printed goods.
"One day, Head Ri asked me to make a technical innovation. At that time, I said I have no ability to do it as I am a housewife. After doing it, however, I realized that everybody can make technical innovations."
Saying so, Kim Song Suk proudly added that she made five technical innovations.
The first technical innovations of the woman worker gave the confidence to the members of her workteam that all of them can make inventions.
Head Ri Chol Man awoke the members of his workteam to the fact that it is to arrest one's ability to think that they have nothing to do with the creation of new technologies. And he himself made technical innovations and inventions in succession, arousing the members of his workteam.
