Snowscape of Ulmil Pavilion
The Ulmil Pavilion on Moran Hill in the capital city of Pyongyang is a historic structure belonging to the Koguryo Dynasty (277 B.C.--A.D. 668).
The pavilion was built as a military command post in the mid-6th century. It shows the high castle-building technique of the Koguryo Dynasty and the outstanding talents of the Korean ancestors.
The present one was rebuilt in 1714.

The "vernal view seen from Ulmil Pavilion" is one of the eight famous scenes of Pyongyang from olden times, but the snowscape of the pavilion also evokes admiration of the people with a harmony of beauty, tenacity and strong spirit.
