Inventor of Practical Teaching Aids
The intelligent and practical teaching aids play an important role in developing the cognitive faculty of the students.
The school innovates the contents and methods of education and actively invents and introduces teaching aids suited to them so that the students can acquire wider knowledge.
Among such visual teaching aids is the "Mendeleev periodic table of the elements" which is important in studying chemistry.
The students can watch on TV the materials on the elements they want to know about, common sense related to them, their present usage and the future trend of development of application technology before being given an appraisal of how far they understand them. In this way, they acquire deep knowledge of chemistry.
The teaching aid was invented by Kim Ok Hui, teacher of chemistry.
For more than 20 years, she has thought and studied how she could give profound knowledge of chemistry to the students in keeping with the world trend of educational development and pedagogical requirements.
She has invented and introduced more than 30 new teaching methods, experimental apparatuses and teaching aids with her tireless passion. In those days, she was awarded the title of October 8 Exemplary Educationist.
Recently, she made an electronic visual teaching aid of industrial models such as flow sheets for iron, vinalon and fertilizer in the chemistry study room, so that the students can possess useful knowledge.
What is noteworthy in her teaching activities is the attitude and stand to teach the students practical knowledge that is remembered long.
Kim Ok Hui said:
"I did nothing special.
Success in education is not seen at once. Nobody can tell that I taught well today or not. I always think that it is my duty to teach the students more things in line with the developing reality so as to make them buckle down to scientific researches with confidence."
Kim Ok Hui is devoting her all to the education of rising generations today, too, with a pure mind that the education for the future of the country is the most honourable and worthwhile work.
