DPRK Premier makes field survey of different sectors of national economy
  Pak Thae Song, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of different sectors of the national economy.
  He visited the Pukchang Thermal Power Complex to learn about the supply of coal and the operation of generating equipment. He stressed the need to rationally establish the auxiliary systems including water supplying and preheating ones to drastically reduce the heat loss and intensify the equipment and technical management to increase the capacity of generators to the maximum while lowering the coal consumption.
  At underground cutting faces of the Tokchon Coal Mine under the Tokchon Area Coal-Mining Complex and the Ryongdung Coal Mine under the Kujang Area Coal-Mining Complex, he met and encouraged the colliers vigorously conducting the socialist patriotic movement for increased coal production.
  He emphasized again the importance of the duty of the coalfields in South Phyongan Province in satisfying the growing demand of the national economy for coal and called for continuously boosting the production by securing enough new coal beds and increasing the proportion of face work done by machines through mass movements including the high-speed tunnelling movement.
  The consultative meetings held on the spot discussed the issues concerned and took relevant measures.
  Meanwhile, Premier Pak acquainted himself with the harvesting and vegetable cultivation at the Sampho and Pobu farms in the city of Kaechon and the Songdo Farm in Pakchon County and stressed the need to properly generalize the farming methods and experiences whose superiority has been proved in this year's farming according to the characteristics of the regions concerned.
