Obituary of death of Kim Yong Nam
The Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK made public an obituary of the death of Kim Yong Nam on November 3.
The obituary said:
We inform the entire Party members and other people of the fact that former Chairman of the Standing Committee of the SPA Kim Yong Nam, a revolutionary of old generation who rendered distinguished services to the history of strengthening and development of the glorious Party and the state, died of multiple organ failure by cancerous poisoning at the age of 97 at 12:00 on November 3, 2025.
The life of Kim Yong Nam was a brilliant one in which he remained faithful to the revolution with the noblest honour, pure loyalty and high ability under the care of the Party and leaders. Kim Yong Nam was born under the colonial rule of foreign imperialists and lived in ordeals as a son of the ruined nation. After greeting the country's liberation at the age of 17, his career of social activities was recorded with his devoted and dynamic activities for prosperity and honour of the country and freedom and happiness of the people.
In almost 80-year period of his revolutionary activities, he always served the Party, country and people with his rich knowledge and high sense of responsibility. Even in his 90s, he devoted all his energies to writing books for handing down the proud history of the DPRK run through with victory and glory to posterity.
He remained faithful to accomplishing the cause of the Party and perfectly fulfilled the sacred duty of demonstrating the prestige of the state all his life. He always enjoyed respect and love of the Party members and other people for his modest yet dignified, honest and upright character. He will be remembered by all as the noble image of the veteran of the first generation of the patriotic cause.
The feats performed by him devoting all his life to the Party, revolution and people will shine brighter along with the future of the DPRK which will emerge victorious. Kim Yong Nam will be immortal as a veteran of the state in the great history and in memory of the people, the obituary noted.
