Inaugural ceremony of 1st-stage project of Tanchon Power Station held
The first-stage project of the Tanchon Power Station in South Hamgyong Province, which is of great significance in the development of the electric power industry of the country, was completed with success.
All the military and civilian builders, who have turned out to materialize the idea of the Workers' Party of Korea on the grand nature-remaking projects, formed waterway tunnels through the northern mountain ranges and wonderfully built Units 1, 5 and 6 of the Tanchon Power Station along with two dams, thus laying another solid foundation for economic development and improvement of the people's standard of living.
The inaugural ceremony of the first stage of the Tanchon Power Station was held on the spot on the 18th.
Present at the ceremony were Pak Thae Song, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and other senior Party and government officials, officials of the Tanchon Power Station Construction Division Command Group and relevant units, officials and working people in Hochon County of South Hamgyong Province, military and civilian builders and employees of the power station.
The national anthem of the DPRK was played.
Premier Pak Thae Song made an inaugural address.
Then he cut the inauguration tape.
After the ceremony, a performance was given to congratulate the builders of the power station and fireworks were set off.
The participants in the inaugural ceremony went round Units 1 and 5 of the Tanchon Power Station, the dams and dwelling houses of the employees.
