National contest of Taekwon-Do schools and paduk and Korean chess games held
  A national contest of Taekwon-Do schools and paduk and Korean chess games were held respectively in the city of Chongjin and the city of Sariwon between the 11th and the 27th.
  The contest and the games brought together more than 600 players selected from Taekwon-Do schools under the Ryongaksan Taekwon-Do Team and provincial Taekwon-Do teams and paduk teams of the provincial paduk centres. They were divided into several categories according to ages. The players competed in Taekwon-Do patterns and sparring, paduk and Korean chess.
  Kangwon Province came first, South Hamgyong Province second and Pyongyang Municipality third in total at the national contest of Taekwon-Do schools.
  Players from the paduk teams of the South Hamgyong provincial and Pyongyang municipal paduk centres proved successful at the paduk and Korean chess games.
  Diplomas were awarded to the teams which took the standings and to the players who displayed high skills.
