Unveiling ceremony of tablet of group sculpture of KPA soldiers held in Vietnam
Present at the ceremony were the delegation of the Ministry of National Defence of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea led by Vice-Minister Ryo Chol Ung on a visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Ri Sung Guk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the DPRK to Vietnam, and staff members of his embassy.
Also on hand were Nguyen Truong Thang, Vice-Minister of Defence of Vietnam, Le Quang Minh, Deputy Head of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, and other personnel concerned of the Ministry of Defence, the General Political Department and the Vietnam Military History Museum.
Guards of honour of the Vietnam People's Army were standing on both sides of the stylobate of the group sculpture.
The cloth was unveiled by Ryo Chol Ung and Nguyen Truong Thang.
The tablet has the letters reading; "Vietnam-DPRK Friendship". Seen on the expository board are the words to the effect that Vietnam and the DPRK established diplomatic relations in January 1950, the DPRK assisted the Vietnamese people materially and morally and helped them by sending experts to Vietnam during the period of their war against US imperialism for national salvation and thus contributed to the victory in the Vietnamese revolution and the fighting spirit and self-sacrificing spirit displayed by Korean soldiers are a noble and beautiful symbol of good international unity and made a contribution to consolidating the Vietnam-DPRK friendly relations.
Floral baskets and bouquets were laid before the stylobate of the group sculpture.
On the other hand, the delegation of the Ministry of National Defence of the DPRK visited the district of cherishing the memory of the fallen soldiers of the Korean People's Army in the city of Bac Ninh in the northern part of Vietnam and placed a wreath before the memorial monument.
