DPRK weightlifters come off victors
In the men's 70-kilogram category on October 30, Pak Pyol lifted 157 kilograms (new world record) in snatch, 198 kilograms in clean and jerk and 355 kilograms (new world record) in total, thus winning gold medals in snatch, clean and jerk, and total.
In the women's 57-kilogram category, O Kwang Ok lifted 102 kilograms in snatch, 125 kilograms in clean and jerk and 227 kilograms in total, thus coming first in snatch, clean and jerk, and total.
Meanwhile, in the women's 53-kilogram category, Kim So Hyon finished first in clean and jerk and third in total. And in the men's 70-kilogram category, Ri Won Ju came second in clean and jerk and total and third in snatch.
