11th Congress of SPYL held
The 11th Congress of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League was held in the capital city of Pyongyang between April 28 and 30.
The congress marks an important occasion in developing the youth league into vanguard faithful to the Worker's Party of Korea and an elite organization of patriotic young people in accordance with requirement of the Party and the revolution expecting an active role of millions of youths, the most powerful force of the society, in all-people grand march towards a brilliant future of our state.
The congress summed up overall work of the youth league in the period under review and discussed practical tasks and ways to further strengthen the great strength of the youths as a powerful driving force for the overall prosperity and development of socialism.
It was attended by delegates elected at the youth league organizations at all levels.
Officials of the Party, armed forces organs, ministries and national agencies and units related with education of youths and children were present as observers.
The rostrum was taken by Kim Jae Ryong and Ri Il Hwan, Members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Secretaries of the Party Central Committee, Ju Chang Il, Member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, Kim Song Gi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and Director of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People's Army, executive members of the Central Committee and chairpersons of the provincial committees of the youth league and others.
The congress was declared open and the national anthem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea played.
The congress elected the presidium and secretariat.

1. Review of the work of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League
2. On the revision of the rule of the SPYL
3. Election of the central leadership organ of the SPYL

It discussed the third agenda item "Election of the central leadership organ of the SPYL".
The congress elected the drafting committee for the decision of the congress with members of the newly-elected 11th central leadership organ of the youth league. The committee examined the creative and constructive opinions presented by delegates and supplemented them in the draft resolution.
The decision of the 11th congress of the youth league was adopted with unanimous approval.
A letter of pledge to the respected ComradeKim Jong Un was adopted.
The congress ended with a chorus "We Will Defend GeneralKim Jong Un with Our Lives".
