With a New Methodology
  In recent years the Ryomyong Senior Middle School in Taesong District of Pyongyang has taken the leading position in the ranking of educational work in the district every year.
  Last year alone, the school took the first place in national, city and district contests and exhibitions and produced holders of the certificate of registration of new teaching method and the certificate of invention of experimental equipment and teaching aids.
  The key to its successes is the methodological improvement of the teachers' qualifications and extracurricular teaching.
  What is noteworthy here is that the school made all teachers improve themselves in their majors while inventing more than two teaching aids.
  The teachers invented new teaching aids in succession by pooling their wisdom and actively studied teaching methods using those aids.



  In the course, the ability of the teachers was further raised and multipurpose teaching aids much better than the previous ones in the aspects of scientific accuracy and practicality were invented and introduced into education.
  Another thing noteworthy in the work of the school is that extracurricular teaching was given in a methodological way according to the psychological features of students with great sensitivity, fervent spirit of inquiry and great curiosity. This resulted in the improvement of the overall ability of students.
  Teacher Hwangbo Un said officials and teachers paid attention to the examinations held after school and renewed the way of presenting questions, and continued:
  "For example, the school understood that if a foreign language teacher raises questions for examination every time, it is impossible to escape from the stereotyped framework. So it saw that several teachers including those with special flair in conversation or grammar studied the types of questions and presented them to the examinations more than twice a week. As a result, the students raised their adaptability while solving various types of questions and the school applied such method to other subjects, considerably improving the ability of the students."
  The officials and educators of the school are now making strenuous efforts to bring about a substantial change in the development of education while finding out a new methodology and actively introducing it.
