State academic degrees and titles awarded to intellectuals
  State academic degrees and titles were awarded to the intellectuals who are making new scientific research findings in the all-people struggle for implementing the Party's policies.
  Present at the awarding ceremony held on the 17th were Jon Sung Guk, Vice-Premier of the Cabinet, and intellectuals.
  A decision of the State Commission for Conferment of Academic Degrees and Titles of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was read out and professorship awarded to 13 persons including Ri Myong Chol, Department Director of the Central Cadres Training School of the Workers' Party of Korea, and Om Kum Chol, Vice-Dean of Kim Il Sung University.
  Doctorate was conferred on 49 persons including Han Kwang Hyok, Department Director of the Central Cadres Training School of the WPK, Choe Sung Jin, Department Head of Kim Il Sung University, and Kong Sun Hyok, Teacher of the University of Sciences.
