26th Congress of Chongryon held
Present there were Chairman of the Central Standing Committee Ho Jong Man and other senior officials of Chongryon, chairpersons of the headquarters of Chongryon, leading officials of the central organizations and business firms, members of the Central Audit Committee, and deputies elected from the institutions and organizations at all levels and business firms under Chongryon.
The national anthem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was played at the congress.
Vice-Chairman Nam Sung U read out the congratulatory message sent by the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK to the 26th Congress of Chongryon.
The congress heard a report on the examination of qualifications and adopted as its agenda items "On the Review of Work of the 25th Term of Chongryon and the Tasks of the 26th Term", "On the Amendment of the Programme and Rules of Chongryon", "On the Settlement of Accounts for the 25th Term and the Budget Bill for the 26th Term" and "On the Election of Officials of Central Organizations of Chongryon".
First Vice-Chairman and Director of the Organization Department Pak Ku Ho made a report on the first agenda item of the 26th Congress of Chongryon, which was followed by speeches.
Introduced at the congress were a video program of congratulations as well as congratulatory messages sent by institutions, organizations and officials in the homeland, overseas Koreans' organizations, organizations and individual figures of Japan and friendship organizations abroad.
Delegates of the Korean youth and schoolchildren in Japan entered the venue of the congress and warmly congratulated the 26th Congress of Chongryon.
Ri Myong Yu, Chairman of the Central Audit Committee of Chongryon, made a report on the work of the committee.
The congress adopted the report of the Central Committee of Chongryon, the first agenda item, as a decision of the congress.
It also adopted with one accord the report of the deliberation committee for amendment of the programme and rules of Chongryon, the second agenda item, and the report of the deliberation committee for settlement of accounts and budget bill, the third agenda item.
At the congress, Ho Jong Man was elected Chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon.
And the First Vice-Chairman, Vice-Chairmen, Director General of the General Affairs Department and members of the Central Committee and the Central Audit Committee of Chongryon were elected.
The congress adopted a letter to the respected Marshal
After the congress, the First Meeting of the 26th Central Committee of Chongryon was held to form the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon and elect Chairman and Vice-Chairmen of the Central Audit Committee of Chongryon.
During the congress, an art performance was given and a photo exhibition held to congratulate the 26th Congress of Chongryon.
There was also held an exhibition showing the achievements made in the development of national education of Chongryon.
